Exhibition

Gallery Kilo, Rovaniemi, Finland
1.-25.9.2008

As a craft group from the North Finland, mainoa DESIGN, we organized exhibitions in Finland and Japan during autumn - winter 2008. This exhibition in Rovaniemi was divided to 2 parts. One is a show of installation using our craft products (wool felt, wood, porcelain) and natural materials from Lappish nature - flowers, plants and movies of landscape. The other, the photo above, was a design show of mainoa DESIGN and exhibitors' profiles in Gallery Kilo.

Each designer of mainoaDESIGN has own company and style of working, but our products are commonly produced slowly with limited amount, and have respect for materials and influence from the nature of northern Finland.

Thank you for visiting the exhibition, and a lot of support from participants for making it!

Exhibition

Gallery Katve, Rovaniemi, Finland
1.-25.9.2008

As a craft group from North Finland, mainoa DESIGN, we organized exhibitions in Finland and Japan during autumn - winter 2008. This exhibition in Rovaniemi was divided to 2 parts. One is a show of installation using our craft products (wool felt, wood, porcelain) and natural materials from Lappish nature - flowers, plants and movies of landscape. The other was a design show of mainoa DESIGN and exhibitors' profiles.

This exhibition in Gallery Katve was experimental : we challenged to make installation by composing movies, natural materials and crafted products, interacting between designers and artist from two countries - Japan and Finland. My friends, COCA-Z, a garden designer and a botanical artist, and Saiko Yoshida, a media artist were invited to Rovaniemi to cooperate with us.

The exhibition building was very demanding both mentally and physically... that brought me discouragements of myself, as well as satisfaction. A lot of thanks for visitors and people who helped us!
